Patients and their challenges provide tremendous drive and meaning to what we do at aTyr. We seek a talented and successful individual that deeply desires to participate in our process to make medicines that change a patient’s life forever. The successful candidate will play an important role in the advancement of our current Physiocrine and antibody therapeutic product candidates into clinical development. 


We are currently seeking a Scientific Intern to join the Process Sciences team. The successful candidate will independently perform DNA preparations, assist with protein purification and analysis activities such as HPLC and SDS-PAGE, and support mammalian cell culture harvests. Other general lab responsibilities include buffer preparation; consumable supply (reordering, receiving, and restocking); and clean glassware supply using the dishwasher, autoclave, and depyrogenation oven. This is a paid internship at approximately 20 hours per week during school and more hours on summer break as the schedule allows.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Enrolled in a life sciences major at an accredited university, with a strong GPA
  • Laboratory experience with an interest in downstream processing
  • Able to handle a fast-paced work environment with flexible, positive attitude
  • Well organized, with great time management and able to execute multiple activities in parallel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
